Last year’s Chartered Financial Planner of the Year, Philip Rose of Group IFA, told us that he was in no doubt that his professional profile had increased since winning the award – his LinkedIn profile was visited a whopping 10,000 times on the day of the Awards ceremony alone!
Philip also suggested that the Award gave him an instant USP:
“As our industry becomes a profession and with 20% of the adviser community being Chartered or fellowship qualified, you need a USP. This Award, being the most prestigious award in our sector, gave me one.”
But since winning the Award Philip has met some who were sceptical of the process, believing that winners were part of ‘an old boys PFS network’. “I was able to assure them that I wasn’t part of such a network” said Philip, reassuring many top quality advisers to try their luck this year.
